Australia is a very big country, so it is not surprising th (*) we can find many differences in weather an (1) scenery from one state to another. As well a (2) geographical and climatic variations, th(3) is a great variety in the people wh (4) live in Australia.
Firstly, lets look a (5) the many landscapes in this vast continent. In the north of Australia, the heavy tropical rainfall produces the wetlands o (6) Kakadu National Park. Here, you can see manyki (7) of birds, and crocodiles can also be found in lakes and riv (8). The Northern Territory is home to a rich Aboriginal culture. Wall paintings in its caves provide evidence that Aborigines have li (9) in Australia for thousands of years. In the dry red centre of Australia, much of the land is desert, where few people can live. The symbol of that region is Ayers Rock, also kn (10) as Uluru.
To the east, is the mainly tropical state of Queensland, famous f (11) the Great Barrier Reef, which lies off the coast. This huge ribbon of coral at the edge of the Pacific Ocean is one of the great natural wonders of the w (12) . Further south, the climate bec (13) more temperate and it is in New South Wales and Victoria that most wheat is grown.
